How cute are these. I’ve decided to make 24 of them this year instead of having an advent calendar!
I’m stashing them all over the tree for the kids to find one every morning and it’s reusable which, after making 24, I’m feeling pretty glad about! DK acrylic yarn in colour of your choice (yarn buster pattern not much needed)
3.5 mm hook
Stitch Marker (you could also use a different coloured piece of yarn to mark your place)
SS Slip Stitch
MR Magic Ring
DC Double Crochet
SC Single Crochet
SC DEC Single Crochet Decrease
This Pattern is written using American standard terms. Numbers in brackets advise number of stitches in that round.
R1 MR, SC9. SS to join and CH1 (9)
R2 SC 2 in every ST around. SS to join and CH1 (18)
R3-13 SC 1 in every ST around. SS to join and CH1 (18)
Fasten off and weave in ends
R14 Find centre of stocking and count 4 ST to the right. SS to join and SC 9. CH1 turn
R15-20 SC in every ST across CH1 and turn (9)
fasten off with a long tail. Turn inside out and weave in end from MR. Also fold the heel in half and sew up (R14-20 forms the heel section of the stocking)
Turn the correct way again.
R21 Join yarn at centre seam. SC 5, SC DEC. The SC DEC should take place where the heel meets the toe section. SC into the next 7 ST. SC DEC. SC in next 4 ST. SS to join CH1 (18)
R22-33 SC in every ST around SS join, CH1 (18)
R34 CH2, DC in every ST around. CH12, SS into top of first DC. This forms the loop so you can hang your mini stocking.
